Testimony of a Mojahedin Defector (Masoud Tayebi)

Subject: MEK Masoud Tayebie the Prominent Member of the Mojahedin Organization withdrew ,


Masoud Tayebi, one of the vice president of army staff headquarters and a member of central council of Mojahedin Organization with a high rank in Organizational MO, which is one of the rank for male only. I had more than twenty years of organization activity and work experience with Mojahedin Organization.

With 24 years of my political active life, I could manage to escape Mojahedin's base in Iraq, and at present time, I am living in Europe, under my political refugee status.

I thought it would be necessary to notify others about my disassociation with the Mojahedin Organization through this announcement.

These are some of the reasons of my disassociation with Mojahedin: ·

1.) Absolute dictatorship of Rajavi and having no rights for others. ·

2.) Lack of freedom in the Organization ·

3.) Deprival of right to choose and preventing the members to form a gathering and having friendly debates on their belief ·

4.) Preventing the members to contact their family members ·

5.) Inquiries and Inspection of Individuals' believe and force the members to report to the Organization of what is going to their brain even to report their night dreams ·

6.) Internal trial of more than fifty members and vice-presidential of Mojahedin Organization in a trial with presence of 2000 people without presence of the jury or any defense lawyer. Masoud Rajavi, himself, was the judge for this unfair trial, and it was held in the summer of 1380 (2001). ·
7.) Imprisoned and tortured- emotionally, mentally and physically, the members who wanted to disassociate with the Mojahedin Organization, but the organization doesn't want them to. ·

8.) Mojahedin's politically military inaccurate actions caused many bad reputations and damaged the Mojahedin Organization. The worse one of all was that Mojahedin was recognized and listed in World-Wide Terrorist Organization by U.S.A and England, especially the European Unions. · Disagreement with any criticize that might help them to progress their political and military strategies. ·

9.) Suppressing the opponents of any organizational members or responsible high council; it is systematic, and if anyone disagrees wit this organization's opinion, he/she will go under severe punishments. These punishments include: (a) accepting accusation of disloyal to Mojahedin Organization in a form of a written confession; (b) In a private internal Organizational meeting, Masoud Rajavi has announced that we have 400 individuals who are the opponents and want to leave Mojahedin Organization. (c) Imprisoned of the individuals at least for two years and for prominent members and vice-presidential rank for five years. For the members of the army staff, it is for over five years ·

10.) Enforcing individuals for a T.V. interview, which was exactly as what have been done by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1360 (1981), when I was a prisoner of the government of Iran,. Since 1381 (2001) until now, this is being done by Mojahedin. ·

11.) Returning some of the disassociated individuals to Iran. The individuals who were against Iran's regime (the ones who were politically active). This inhumane action is taken by the Iraqi authorities and the prison guards. This action is even being done to people who have the citizenship of European countries or North America, but joined the Mojahedin and went to Iraq to fight for Iran's freedom.


INTERNAL ORGANIZATION TRIAL

A report from an Internal Organization trial which was held for three months in Mojahedin Organization based on Iraq Mojahedin Khalq Organization confessed of having prison and prisoners in different parts of its organization in Iraq. The members must either be isolated in a cell of a prison, or kept away from the groups. When they are in a lonesome situation, they should realize that whatever Masoud and Maryam Rajavi are saying is the truth, and they might come back to the organization again. If not, they still emphasize to leave the organization; they must write a repentant letter and do a T.V interview based on leaving this organization is their own problems and they must say they don't belong to this organization, and then the Mojahedin will transform them to the prison in Iraq with an evidence.

1.) The trial was held during the month of June and July 2001, and it took more than three months.
2.) The location of the trial was in Bagher Zadeh Base, which is located 60 km away from West Baghdad
3.) In this trial, at least 50 members and vice-presidential of the organization were present.

After announcing their names, watch guards took them to a location which was across from Masoud and Maryam Rajavi- the spiritual leaders of Mojahedin, and the chairman of the National Council of Resistance, residential. The location was under tight security, and there were watch guards and securities all around the building. The trial took place at this place under Masoud Rajavi's judgment.

Some of the people who went under the trial, but made it to leave Mojahedin, will be represented in this announcement: ·

1.) Mehdi Eftekhari- commander of Fatollah's operation. He spent twenty- five years of his life in the Mojahedin Organization, and was an active member of Mojahedin in Shah's and Khomeini's Regime. He was in charge of the social part of Mojahedin. As a chairman, in 1364 (1985), he had a high rank of MO or vice- presidential of the Army Staff Headquarter. He also helped the arrangement for the escape of Masoud Rajavi and Mr. Abouhossan Banisadr (the first president of Iran, after the revolution in 1979). He was under the unfair trial for three days. He was one of the closet members of Masoud Rajavi, but Rajavi was not faithful to him, and insulted him in front of 2000. He had no defense lawyer and could not speak up for his rights, because Masoud Rajavi and some other closed minded people did not allow him to talk; they just attacked him and insulted him for deciding to leav the Mojahedin Organization. Masoud Rajavi purposely insulted Mehdi Eftekhari, and punished him for not having faith in Rajavi, anymore; Mehi Eftekhari was also punished for criticizing Rajavi for over twelve years. Mehdi was not as strong in his belief as he was twelve years ago. Because Mehdi was not agree with the brain searching of the individuals after the Ideological Revolutionary, which was the marriage of Masoud and Maryam. >From 1368 (1989), he stood up to show his disagreement by disobeying the organizational ruler. Mehdi's disobeying was obvious to everyone. ·

2.) Hamid Falahati- With 19 years of activities in the Mojahedin Organization. He was one of the vice- presidential of the Mojahedin Organization. His real accusation was that he did not believe, and he did not expect the terrorist policy of Mojahedin. His trial took 16 hours long.

3.) · Masoud Zarghani- He has twenty years of experience in the Mojahedin Organization and he was one of the active members of Mojahedin. He was also vice-president member of army staff headquarters. Once in 1375 (1996), he withdrew from Mojahedin; at that time, he was in Sweden. But again, he was attracted to Mojahedin by Fereshteh Yeganeh- one of the high rank members of Mojahedin and a member of the National Council of Resistance. Fereshteh Yeganeh made so many promises to convince Masoud Zarghavi, and eventually, she succeeded, and sent Masoud Zarghavi to Iraq to serve Mojahedin Organization. His trial took about twelve hours. ·

4.) Ali Bagher Zadeh- was accused of planning to escape from Jelola Base. He was also one of the vice-presidential of Mojahedin Organization. He was also accused of opposing the brain search of Mojahedin; it was called "Ongoing Operation", which you had to write everything about your 24-hours of activities (even your night dreams). His trial took one day. ·

5.) Hussein Mashoof- Was accused of planning to escape from Mojahedin's Base in Iraq, and he was also blamed for a telephone conversation with his family members in Iran and other countries, so they could help him and get him out of the Mojahedin Organization. His two brothers were killed in Mojahedin's military operations, and his other brother is living in Germany. The news about his unfair trial and also being trapped in Mojahedin's Base in Iraq was reported to the Human Rights Organization activities; therefore, Mojahedin enforced him and put him under pressure and asked him to deny whatever happened to him while he was in Mojahedin, so when he meets the numbers of the Amnesty International denied about prison and being a prisoner in Mojahedin Organization. In his meeting, the chairman of the Political Commissioner of the Mojahedin, Mohammad Mahadesin was present, too. ·

6.) Shahab Ekhteeyari- He is Kurdish and a residence of Karand city. He joined the Mojahedin Organization in the called "Eternal Light Operation", which took place in 1367 (1987). He participated in the operation and helped the Mojahedin for their three days operation, and chose to join Mojahedin, so he entered Iraq and went to Mojahedin's military base. During his trial, he was watched cautiously- even at night, during his sleep hour; they feared if he'd escape the base. Every night, twenty- one individuals were responsible to watch him closely and carefully. ·

7.) Jamal Amiri- Was accused of poisoning the individuals in Mojahedin's Base, and convincing the individuals of leaving Mojahedin. He refused to participate to the meeting called "Ongoing Operation", which was a personal brain research. He was in isolation for twenty days before his trial. He was watched daily by five guards. Jamal Amiri had fifteen years of political activities experiences with Mojahedin and was one of the vice-presidential of a high rank in Mojahedin. He was under pressure mentally, emotionally, and physically; he couldn't stand all these pressures, so he repented for his disagreement, and therefore, Rajavi forgave him. There is no doubt about the leader of Mojahedin, Masoud Rajavi, as being thirsty to be praised. Masoud Rajavi's selfishness remained as the Mojahedin's Organization, and Mojahedin gets everyone to keep quiet and he does not let anyone speak up the truth about Mojahedin. This kind of behavior made many prominent members of Mojahedin to leave Mojahedin, including: Masoud Banisadr- the member and spokesperson of the Mojahedin Organization in the United States of America.

8.) Bahman Ehtemad- the member and spokesperson of the National Council of Resistance in England.

9.) Lastly, Kamal Rezaee- a member and spokesperson of both, the Mojahedin and the National Council of Resistance in Netherlands. Kamal Rezaee planned a secret operation, while he was supposed to go to Iraq; he ran away from Frankfurt airport, and since then, the Mojahedin don't have any news abut him.



Why has such an incident happened in Mojahedin? Why have the closet and the most honest members of the Mojahedin, including myself, left Mojahedin and have no more faith on them?

The Mojahedin Organization- in an announcement in the Mojahed Newspaper, published number, 592, on the date of July 2002, called me (Masoud Tayebi) a spy agent of the Islamic Republic of Iran. With such action, the Mojahedin tries to scare me and to keep me quiet not speak about the truth in Mojahedin. They try to keep their criminal actions a secret, and to not let anyone know the real face of them. But, I made this my duty to speak up and inform the people of Iran that the Mojahedin Organization is just talking and making the gesture of democracy, without even believing in it, or practicing it at least in its own organization with its own members.

They have a Froidistic point of view about the men and women relationships. They are believing and acting the same as Khomeini's style towards men and women. In the hallways of Mojahedin, there are arrow points, indicating the men's side and the women's side. This reminds me of the separated bus for men and women in Iran. Men and women are not allowed to contact each other. The men and women in Mojahedin have no right to work in the same room if there are just two of them. If so, they have to report, for any immoral action; even though they did not perform it. The report then, will be read in a gathering of 30-50 members, and this way, they have an evidence to make the individual obedient to the Organization.


INTERNAL ANALYSIS OF THE MOJAHEDIN ORGANIZATION AFTER THE SEPTEMBER 11TH AND A PLAN CALLED "SHEQE SEEYA" "THE BLACK PHASE"

In November 3rd 2001, the Mojahedin Organization had an urgent meeting in Bagherzadhe's Base which is located 60 Km West of Baghdad, Iraq. This meeting was based on the September 11th events and the consequences of aftermath. This meeting was held with the present of Masoud Rajavi and 500 prominent members of the Mojahedin.

The purpose of the meeting was on a plan called "Sheqe Seeya" "The Black Phase". According to the report from inside the meeting for the plan, Masoud Rajavi decided if in a case United State of America planed to attack Iraq, our Organization must be prepared to do its biggest operation and attack Iran.

He said, of course, for such operation we need the permission from the Iraq's government as we always did. The Mojahedin Organization believes in such chaotic situation in Iraq, this would be a golden opportunity for us after the Eternal Light Operation in 1367(1988). We must be prepared and take a good advantage of this opportunity. The Mojahedin wanted to accuse other forces for the operation.

They are aware that: - The present situation in Iraq and the attack to Iraq from U.S.A will enforce the Mojahedin to do such operation they have no choice. - The Mojahedin know that the International and the regional situation is not expecting such military operation - The Mojahedin know that they do not have enough army and are not in one hundred percent military situation for such operation or military attack in Iran.

After many years of promising and not going anywhere, there are also many internal organizational disagreement within the Mojahedin Organization; therefore, this would be a good time to keep everyone quiet, and to put the blame on others for their own mistakes for years and years. This is why they call this plan "Segheh Seeya" "The Block Phase" for preparing to attack Iran.

Everyone is aware that in case of U.S.A's attack on Iraq, the government of Iran, who is fully armed and prepared, will pull its military to the boarder and will be prepared for any kind of military attack. Of course, they are looking for such opportunity to kill thousands of Mojahedin.

At this point, I have to emphasize that in any situation, Masoud and Maryam Rajavi, their watch guards, and the prominent members of Mojahedin will be safe and never participate in such operation themselves. They already prepared themselves to escape and to make a political refugee for themselves, to one of the Scandinavian Countries, which are not with the European Union.

I made this as my duty to inform you that if the prepared plan of the Mojahedin takes place, it is a sad event and an unfair decision for the lives of many people who are just prisoners in Iraq and have no right to make any decision on their own for their lives. They are victims of Rajavi's mistakes, immatureness and selfishness. They are trapped for their mistaken belief, which they no longer believe in. We should stop Rajavi for such self- determined decision, and do not permit him to sacrifice people who do not believe they should be sacrificed in such way.

We ask Mojahedin to please respect others' opinions, because everyone's opinions are respected to them. This is my duty to try hard for the freedom of many people who are trapped in Rajavi's cast and do not want them to be a victim of Rajavi's selfishness, and I would like to ask the people who could support me in this pathway. What was the Mojahedin Organization's opinion about the event on September 11th? Why did this organization not fortify about this event? When the horrible event of September 11th occurred, it was almost two months of the beginning of the unfair trial of the disagree members of Mojahedin, who want to leave Mojahedin's base in Iraq.

The day of the September 11th event, most of the National Liberation Army's staff was on their guard duty in Bagher Zadeh Base in 60 km west of Baghdad. It was sometime between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., in Baghdad local time, when the September 11th even happened. At that time, I, Masoud Tayebi, with other fifteen staff members were in an army staff headquarters meeting. An unacceptable phone call gave us news based on "America has been bombarded!" Everyone was shocked and stood of their chairs. The chairman of the army staff headquarters wants us to leave the present location and go to the military base. After twenty minutes of our arrival to the base, the news which was taped recorded from CNN, was broadcasted on the T.V. screen. The translator had translated on the news, so we learned that the horrible event had happened, and the big building of the World Trade Centre had been attacked by terrorists, and later, the Pentagon Building was also attacked.

The Mojahedin started to "party". The loud music was broadcasted by the loud speakers. Then, everyone was ready at the Mojahedin Bases to sing ""Battle with America" or "Na Bord Ba America". This song has been sun by the Mojahedin for over eighteen years. Those were the days when Masoud and Maryam Rajavi were happier.

In about after three days of the September 11th event, the Mojahedin held a meeting gathering 2000 members. This meeting was performed with Masoud and Maryam's present. At the beginning of the meeting, when Masoud Rajavi entered, the happiness was on his face, and he looked at the people present in the meeting, and he asked them, "Do you guys know what happened?" The people at the meeting started to clap and whistle. Then, Masoud Rajavi asked the control room to display the recorded news of the September 11th event. It took them almost half-an-hour to display the recorded news on the wide screen in the meetings. After the display, while his mouth was covered by his hand, he shook his head in a sad manner. However, you could see the real happiness in his eyes. Then, he said "Do not ask me to fortify or analyze about this event, because the wall has a hole, and that hole has a mouse with two ears." This way Masoud Rajavi announced his happiness about the September 11th event. They have not said anything and they have kept quiet about the event.

This is Mojahedin's tactic that when they do not want to fortify about an event. For the own political situation, they keep quiet and sell their Mojahed Newspaper to be published for a while. He did the exact same tactic in 1991, during the Gulf War and during the Desert Operation Event. This way, the Mojahedin disregards the September 11th event, and unlike other political organizations, they id not condemn the actions. He said that we are in Iraq, and we can't say anything to displease the government of Iraq.

In the end, I would like to announce this to the National Council of Resistance is a political shield for the Mojahedin. The National Council of Resistance, like Mojahedin, have no supporters in Iran, and all Iranian citizens know them both, as anti- democratic; a suppression organization. - Masoud Tayebi
