MPG : Tear Gas Fired
at Huge Workers Rally in Tehran

A huge rally by Iran's workers protesting at the new Labor laws,
which makes it easier for employers to sack employees, was met
with violence and tear gas by the Islamic regime's LEF units.
Some of the slogans shouted were :
'Students, Teachers, Workers - Unity Unity!'
'Forget Palestine, Do something for us!'
'New Labor laws, Insult to our Martyrs'
'We have the right to strike'
Although the protest organisers had obtained the permit for
the march, and only approved slogans were to be chanted, the
rally soon became yet another venue for Iran's oppressed workers
to vent their anger at the Islamic regime.
Workers fought back with the LEF forces by throwing stones,
and almost managed to take over the welfare ministry offices.
Iran's workers deserve better than the long sticks of "Law"
Enforcement Forces. By continuing the struggle on all fronts and
building an effective organisation, soon it will be the clerics
who will be facing our sticks. |
