IAIS: Latest Reports on the Condition of Siamack Pourzand

Latest reports are indicating the ongoing torture on the 72-year-old journalist, Siamack Pourzand, who has been missing since last November. Recently, Mr. Pourzand has been tried and condemned to 8 years imprisonment by the Islamic court.

Mr. Pourzand was to be transferred from the horrific Amaken prison to Evin prison following his conviction; however at the moment Mr. Pourzand is not present in Evin prison and frankly his current location is unknown.

Human rights groups abroad have been concerned in regards to Mr. Pourzand's condition. Many people fear Mr. Pourzand may suffer a similar fate to Saedi Serjani, an old Iranian writer who was viciously murdered while in custody.
