In objection to his tormenting conditions present in the GhaemShahr prison, a prison filled with insane criminals, Manoochehr Mohammadi, student leader and an innocent victim of the 8th of July 1999 assault on the student dormitory, has gone on hunger strike.

At first, Manoochehr Mohammadi was imprisoned in the notorious Evin prison, however for the continuation of his physical and psychological torture the Islamic authorities had illegally transferred him through brutal force to GhaemShahr prison.

In an interview with Persian BBC, Mohammad Mohammadi, father of Manoochehr Mohammadi, claimed that his son has been on hunger strike for a week now.

He claimed that the authorities of the GhaemShahr prison are brutally torturing his son.

Manoochehr Mohammadi’s father states that it has been five days since he has visited his son, and his son’s conditions are very harsh and disturbing.

Manoochehr Mohammadi already suffers from malnutrition to a point where he struggles to walk on his own two feet, in addition to suffering dangerous gum infections in which he has continuously been denied treatment for despite holding letters of approval in his possession.
