Upon this year’s 18th of Tir demonstration, where thousands of students and youth poured the streets in defiance to the Islamic regime and in support of the student leaders held captive, more and more student activists have been subjected to the cruel Islamic prisons.

Student leader and speaker of the National Union of Iranian Students and Graduates, Dr. Farzad Hamidi, has been captured and arrested by Islamic authorities and sentenced to one-year imprisonment and two years suspension.

Dr. Farzad Hamidi’s crime was having contacts with Manoochehr Mohammadi in prison and relaying his writings to Iranians abroad, and to having contacts with Gholam-Reza Mohajeri-Nejad, Vice-President of the National Union of Iranian Students and Graduates abroad committee and speaker of the Alliance of Iranian Students.

The National Union of Iranian Students and Graduates calls upon all freedom fighters to write to Human Rights organizations in demand for support of political prisoners in Iran.
