Mostafa Piran has been arrested

Upon writing public letters in support of the captive students, the real victims of the 18th of Tir, and in rejection to their illegal transfer, Mr. Mostafa Piran, a political activist, has been arrested and imprisoned. This comes at a time where affiliates of the Revolutionary Courts has brutally attacked Mr. Piran’s residence.

Dear Compatriots,

Our beloved captive students have dealt with harsh prison environments, thus having the intention of sending their public letters to Human Rights organizations and Newsgroups in objection to the torturous conditions and long-term imprisonment.

It must be recognized that these inhuman arrests and illegal transfers stand as a symbol of the brutality and state of fear of Intelligence agents in regards to the peoples’ awareness of the conditions of the captive students.

The National Union of Iranian Students and Graduates demands the immediate and unconditional release of Mr. Mostafa Piran and other captive students, who were the innocent victims of the July ’99 unrest.
