In the darkness of the early hours of the first of Azar

1377 (November 22, 1998), once again the nameless soldiers

of the Islamic Republic’s ‘Savior of

Days’ showed their vulgar criminal faces and

mutilated the torsos of two more of the warriors of

freedom- Dariush Forouhar and his spouse, Parvaneh Forouhar

Iskandari- so that, in their own thinking, they could

silence their belief. These little pawns, who like the real

masterminds of this atrocity have not taken wind of

humanity, intending to intensify the effects of their

terror, tore the chest of Parvaneh Forouhar-Iskandari- this

symbol of the struggling Iranian Women- with 24 dagger

strikes while she was facing [Mecca].

In the continuation of making these waves of terror and the

so-called ‘vigilante’ murders ever more

turbulent, a bit later, along the line of the incomplete

‘Writer’s Bus’ project [whereby the

driver of the bus tried to kill a bus full of writers

traveling to Armenia and make it look like an accident],

Mohammad Jaafar Puyandeh and Mohammad Mokhtari were also

shamefully kidnapped and martyred by the regime’s

butchers. These murders, and more than 200 other political

assassinations domestically and abroad later became known

as The Case of the "Chain Murders", which due to various

reactions, made the quivering base of this illegitimate

regime more unstable.

The evil lackeys of the Islamic Republic committed this

crime hoping to kill another flame of the resistance so

that no one in this country would dare cry freedom and

cherish the hope of Iran prospering in order for the Mafia

of power, the Hezbollah, to continue looting and pillaging

our people and our country by abusing religion. Such a vain

endeavor, such futility; for, these atrocities became the

beginning of the legitimacy crisis for and the demise of

the Islamic Republic.

Along this line, the announcement of this news and the

superficial mention of some of the details of this

atrocity, met with such a quick reaction among the domestic

masses as well as abroad, that for the first time ever, the

Islamic Republic was forced to confess that these

atrocities were committed by the regime’s own

security agents. Without doubt, this puny attempt of the

Islamic Republic took place with this futile belief that

any plausible connection with the real masterminds and

orchestrators of this crime could be denied. However, these

concocted half-confessions were also followed by a

hurricane of anger and criticism among the people and

worldwide that has not yet subsided.

Yes, the regime reigning in Iran, with a thousand ruses,

has attempted to evade trying and condemning the

perpetrators and orchestrators of these crimes, which is-

of course- naturally to be expected as should they be

tried, the highest officials of the pyramid of power in

Iran will be put on trial.

Students and the noble nation of Iran,

Now, at the verge of the fourth memorial of the murders of

the Forouhars and other victims of the Chain Murders, it is

up to each of us to further reveal these cases and bring

the perpetrators and orchestrators of these crimes to

justice, in order to not allow the blood of these loved

ones who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom and

prosperity of Iran to be wasted.

Yes, it is upon us, through our continued struggle, to seek

justice for the trampled rights of these champions of our

country and make sure the criminals and their mercenaries

pay for this injustice. We should continue our struggles by

congregating ever-more in order to rid our country from the

[evil] Zahak [a Persian mythology blood thirsty ruler] of

our time.

The Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy

in Iran hereby, once again, cherishes the memory of all the

victims of the "Chain Murders" and offers its sincerest

condolences to their relatives and to the noble nation of

Iran. Additionally, this committee requests from all

Iranian organizations and groups that by ever-revealing the

atrocities and oppressions of the mullahs, and by

encouraging international organizations and references to

place ever-increasing pressure on the Islamic Republic to

force them to observe the context of the International

Declaration of Human Rights, to bring about the requisites

to form a clear and open court for trying the masterminds

and agents of this atrocity along line with respect for

the principles of justice, human rights, and secular

democracy.

Avenge we Shall this Injustice…
