To those honoring the anniversary of the Human Rights
Declaration!

SMCCDI (Public Statement)
December 10, 2002

"... The sons of Adam are limbs of each other, Having
been created of one essence.
When the calamity of time afflicts one limb, The other
limbs cannot remain at rest..." (Sa'di Shirazi - Persian
13th century poet)

In line with the mercantilist and business oriented policy
of the European Union (EU) members, as well as the extreme
generosities of the Islamic Republic’s rulers looting
the Iranian nation’s wealth and resources; The United
Nations' Human Rights Commission passed, this year, a
resolution removing the status of the Islamic republic
regime as Human Rights violators from its black list and
did not renew the appointment of the UN’s special
investigator on Human Rights for Iran. This move cleared
the way for an unprecedented degree of systematic Human
Rights abuses by the Islamic regime.

Making such a decision and ending the monitoring of Human
Rights violations in Iran have allowed the stoned headed
mullahs hands free to brutally and violently suppress the
Iranian people’s rights beyond any imagination.

Recent unfortunate and heart breaking Internet images,
photos, reports, and other documents showing: Pulling out
eyes from live humans, Cutting out body parts, Lashing of
youth in public, Public stoning of women, Group Public
hangings of innocent young freedom-lovers, and much more...
are the best proof of such Human Rights violation increases
by the government of Iran.

These hard evidences are not only the proves of major
mistakes of some supporters of "Critical Dialogue" with
mullahs and their so-called reformists alike, they're also
clear proves of how badly these stone aged religious
dictators operate in the door steps of the twenty first
century.

In fact Iran, the nation who was the first ever to
announce, practice, and honor the Human Rights following
Cyrus the Great’s unprecedented declaration, some
2,500 years ago, was also among the first nations to join
and sign the new United Nations' Human Rights declaration
over 55 years ago. But with the sizing of political power
by the Islamic Republic’s rulers, in 1979, mullahs
used their own religious believes to systematically violate
and ignore current Human Right laws while the rest of the
“Civilized World” nations chose silence and
only watched from the sideline allowing the new regime to
continue its barbarian practices.

Unfortunately, despite the signing and the commitments of
signatories of the Universal declaration on Human Rights,
such principles are only applied and enforced in the most
powerful nations of the world. For the less fortunate
nations, such laws are enforced conditionally depending on
their geopolitical and economical situations to insure
national interests benefiting those powerful nations that
are truly discriminating greatly against poor and
developing nations around the world.

These are some of clear reasons of why in a country like
Iran, lack of such Human Rights laws enforcement cause
Iranian women to continue years of struggle to seek for
their simplest of Human Rights objective such as choosing
what to wear that is denied by the regime that largely
carries on discrimination against Iranian women.

The so called the highest United Nations' officials,
supposedly representing global women’s rights
organization of the proud “Civilized Nations”,
made fools out of themselves by wearing Islamic
veils/dress against their own will and what they stood for
at the time they visited mullahs in Iran.

Another recorded historic case was when the UN Secretary
General, Mr. Kofi Anan, visiting the mullahs in Iran
praised the existence of democracy in Iran, while at the
very same time, just a block away, the regime’s
Hezbollah security forces were beating and breaking the
bones of our moral parents, male and female teachers, who
were peacefully demonstrating in order to request their
unpaid wages of several months. Their repression resulted
in the deaths of two and injuries of several other
teachers.

It obviously appears that for the United Nations' officials
and those governments, supportive of the Islamic Republic
regime, the following are not among the Human Rights
violations in Iran. Mass execution of political prisoners,
Closing down of dozens of newspapers as a whole, Burning
and destruction of valuable books and important documents,
Torture and imprisonment of freedom seekers, university
students, and intellectuals all alike, Kidnapping and
physically removing regime’s opponents from the face
of earth such as in the “Chain Murders“
tragedy, Ignoring the very basics of Human Rights,
especially of women and children, and Thousands of other
cases that are clearly violating basic Human Rights carried
on by the Hizbollah Mafia in Iran against Iranian
population in particular women and children.

A true consideration of such violations can easily help to
topple such regime and to help its replacement by a secular
and democratic regime.

The great people of Iran who are truly fed up with the
Islamic repressors, DO NOT HONOR OR CELEBRATE THE
ANNIVERSARY OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS DECLARATION WITH THE WORLD
AND THE UNITED NATIONS, and until the time they reach a
secular and a democratic system in Iran, they will continue
to mark this occasion as a grim reminding day of dishonest
double standers and governments who claim to be the
guardians of the highest Human Rights values all around the
globe today.

On the other hand, the Student Movement Coordination
Committee for Democracy in Iran believes that the strong
freedom lovers of Iran, especially Iranian students are
grateful and appreciative of those international
associations and organizations who always stood by their
side while they were fighting for their freedom, and tried
so very hard, to condemn the Islamic Republic regime for
all its Human Rights violations.
