SMCCDI (Public Statement)
December 9, 2002
Hail to the Will and Determination of a Nation that Will
Die but not be Tread Upon
The new student movement of Iran, by benefiting from the
history of its struggle, correcting its mistakes, and
clearing out the [regime] operatives from its ranks, has
set foot upon the arena of battle against the rulers of
tyranny and the religious fundamentalists- each time with
more success and determination- and, by joining the
movement with the society outside the university, have
guaranteed its momentum and victory.
December 7 [Azar 16] of this year, which had coincided with
the intensification of the movement after the savage
suppression of the July 19 [Tir 18] demonstrations by the
agents of the Islamic Republic- despite the deceptions of
the mullahs and the regular cooperation of the Regime's
Reformists with the Religious Fundamentalists- became a
glorious demonstration of the will and determination of the
capable Third Force and the great power of civil
disobedience; and, once again, the diabolic ploys of the
regime that murders freedom of thought were laid to waste.
The "exalted post of the Leadership" that had deployed its
hooligans in the streets, the "shelter-of-Islam President"
who cowardly avoided direct contact with the students, and
the "law-abiding" Minister of State who gathered all his
power to contain the students within the walls of the
university, saw along with the media cameras how the raised
hands through the Tehran University fence, at opportune
times, were clasped by the hands of the freedom-lovers on
the other side of the fence; and, their loud cries shook
the court of the tyrants.
16 Azar 1381, Tehran and the other cities were crying out
in unison.
Heroic Students and People of Iran:
Hail to your Unity!
Salute to you students, the symbol of resistance and
strength, who carry the flag of struggling against the
tyranny and fundamentalism of the mullahs.
Salute to you people of Iran, the symbol of liberty and
love for freedom, who have bravely risen to combat the
monsters and devils.
Salute to you Iranians living abroad, who by performing
demonstrations in different cities worldwide have made sure
that the cries of your countrymen and countrywomen inside
the country reaches the ear of freedom-lovers the world
over, and expose the terrorism of the Hezbollah mafia.
The heads of the Islamic Republic can be certain that the
battle that has begun will continue till the total
eradication of the collapsing system of the oppressive
mullahs and the establishment of a democratic secular
system of government in our country based upon an open
referendum.
The demonstrations of the laborers, these hardworking
producers of society, and the teachers' demonstrations,
these honorary fathers and mothers, are coming up and along
this line, the Student Movement Coordination Committee for
Democracy in Iran deems it necessary in these sensitive and
final stages of the Iranian peoples' struggles for freedom-
just as it recommended to the dear students- to once again
remind that the protest actions of the different strata of
society must join the fundamental, general, and political
requests of the other strata so it can lead to the
concentration and continuance of decisive movements;
otherwise, they will either be hastily quashed, or after
acquiring limited class benefits there will no longer be a
desire for continuing the struggle.
Students, laborers, and teachers, victory is yours.
Long Live Freedom.
Established be Secularism
